Release notes 10/19/12

Enhancement: Time Settings – Daylight Savings Time Feature (USA Only)

Benefit to Users:

This Enhancement to the Time Settings area of the Platform, provides the user with the ability to automate the Daylight Savings Time Feature. Prior to this Release, Users had to go in and manually adjust the Time Settings to reflect Daylight Savings Time. This created additional work for the User and caused a large amount of perceived incorrect data when the Time Zone was not manually updated. Users will now have the ability to setup the Daylight Savings Time to automatically update.

Highlight:

This Enhancement to the Time Settings area of the Platform, will allow the User to setup the Daylight Savings Time Feature on the Site, Client and Group Level. This will allow the User to have multiple options and avoid being limited to all Clients using the same Daylight Savings Time Option. This feature is currently only available to clients located within the United States of America. Also, if you setup the Daylight Savings Time option after the November 4th 2012 time change, the time will automatically update.

Process:

To setup the Daylight Savings Time Option, on the Client Level, please follow these steps:

  1. Login to Client Level Platform
  2. From the Dashboard, select 'Tools and Settings'
  3. Select 'Manage General Settings' and the 'Display Format' tab
  4. Set the Country to United States
  5. Select 'Yes' for the Use Daylight Savings Time
  6. Click on 'Save'

To setup the Daylight Savings Time Option, on the Group Level, please follow these steps:

  1. Login to Client Level Platform
  2. From the Dashboard, select the Group to Edit
  3. Select the 'Time Settings' tab
  4. Set the Country to United States
  5. Select 'Yes' for the Use Daylight Savings Time

New Feature: Manage Blocked Devices

Benefit to Users:

This New Feature, available to the Site Admin, enables the user to Manage Blocked Devices on their Platform. Occasionally devices may need to be blocked due to over-reporting which can lead to delays in the platform and increased data costs. This New Feature will allow the user to move Active Devices to Blocked status along with the ability to move Blocked Devices back to Active. Prior to this Release, Users had to input a ticket or get in contact with their Account Manager in order to perform these functions. Users have the ability to filter both the Active & Blocked Devices by Client & Group Name and IMEI.

Highlight:

This New Feature will only be available to the Site Admin User. This feature will save the Site Admin an enormous amount of time in the occurrence of a Blocked Device needing to be made Active. Also, Users now have the ability to make an Active Device Blocked, if the need to do so arises. This New Feature also includes a Quick Blocking Tool – simply enter the IMEI to Block and select Block.

Process:

To Move a Device from Active to Blocked & vice versa:

  1. Login to Site Admin
  2. Select the 'Manage Blocked Devices'
  3. Perform a Search for the Device or, find it manually on the list
  4. Highlight the Device Name and use the Arrows to move from Active to Blocked & Vice Versa
  5. Also, to use the Quick Blocking Tool, enter an IMEI to Block and select 'Block'

Bug Fix: Dispatch Calendar in Google Chrome

Issue:

When using Google Chrome, Users were receiving this bug within the Dispatch Tab. When the Dispatch Tab was selected, the calendar appeared and would not close. Any users with the most up-to-date version of Google Chrome, were experiencing this bug. No other browser, or older version of Google Chrome, had this bug issue.

Users were able to fully access the Dispatch tab however, unless the Calendar tab & Date were selected, users were not able to remove the calendar from the upper left of the page. This calendar would remain on the page and restrict users from seeing all options and features. If the user did not take the additional steps to remove the calendar, it was seen as simply a bug in the Platform.

Solution:

Users are now able to access the Dispatch Tab within Google Chrome, without issue. Our Developers were able to identify the problem with the Google Chrome update and create the resolution. Users will now be able to use the Dispatch Tab in the latest version of Google Chrome, with no restrictions. Also, the Dispatch Tab with all other Platforms, is still fully functional. This fix will influence all users.

Bug Fix: View Device Assignments, Last Activity – Does Not Matter

Issue:

Users were not receiving the accurate results when using the Last Activity of 'Does Not Matter' within the View Device Assignments, on the main Site Admin of the Platform. This was causing users to receive incomplete & inaccurate results when performing this search.

Users who were experiencing this error, did not initially realize that the results were inaccurate. It was not until the user fully reviewed the results, that they realized the data was incomplete & inaccurate. Users were seeing a variety of results depending on when the search was run. However, all of these results were incorrect. Additionally, the Users were receiving no Error Messages.

Solution:

Users are now able to View Device Assignments, using the Last Activity of 'Does Not Matter' and receive complete and accurate information. This Last Activity Option is once again listing any Devices, with no limits on the last time the device has reported, for the selected client. Our Developers were able to correct the bug concerning the limited results and, assure that the logic was once again working correctly. This fix will influence all Users.
