Enhancement: Android Mobile Tracking Client Application
Users will now be able to request the creation, and usage, of a branded Android Mobile Tracking Client Application.
Benefit to Users:
This new Application provides the users with an entirely new Mobile Tracking Client within the Android Device. Prior to this, users were not able to use Android devices as Mobile Tracking Clients.
The creation of this new Application is available to all clients – free of charge. Users will receive a branded Android application for their usage. Users will be able to download the application directly onto their device and modify a number of settings to their liking. The Application runs in the background of the Android Device, uses minimal battery and features an automated 15 Minute Panic Report.
For more information, read this release on our Android GPS tracking.
Enhancement: Mobile License Process
Users will now be able to assign purchased Mobile Licenses to their Android and BlackBerry Mobile Tracking Client Applications.
Benefit to Users:
This update to the license process will allow users to monitor the Mobile Licenses that have been sent and assigned to their applications. Prior to this update, users were not able to monitor their Mobile Licenses.
Once a user has an Android or BlackBerry Application created, it will require an active Mobile License to download and install on the clients device. After the Application has been installed, the Mobile License will be updated on the Platform to include:
- Device Type
- Acceptance and Assigned Date
- Device along with an option to ‘Release’ the License
Enhancement: Mobile Platform Website
Users will now be able to view the enhanced Platform Website on an expanded list of Mobile Devices.
Benefit to Users:
This Platform Enhancement has greatly expanded the list of compatible Mobile Devices for usage of the Platform. Prior to this enhancement, the Platform Website was not compatible with this expanded list of Devices.
With this Platform Enhancement, users will be able to access and navigate the Mobile Platform on an abundance of Mobile Devices. The Platform has been tested and verified on all of the devices listed below. In addition, we are performing constant tests to assure the Platform runs seamlessly.
Bug Fix: Google Chrome - Viewing Platform Reports
Users were not able to see the Reports unless they followed a number of additional steps within Google Chrome.
Google Chrome provides automatic updates to their Browser without prior notification. After Google Chrome performed their most recent update, there was an issue with additional windows being opened. Google Chrome was made aware of this issue however, the Developers at Position Logic were able to create a fix.
Users will be able to open and view the Platform Reports in Google Chrome without any additional steps – just as they would in any other Internet Browser. We are glad to have resolved this issue presented by the Google Chrome Browser and, confirm that the opening of Platform Reports works correctly once again.
Bug Fix: Creating Circular Geofences
Users were not able to add Circular Geofences within the Platform.
While the option was available on the Platform to add Circular Geofences, users would experience an error during the addition process. Users were experiencing this error whether entering the Geofence manually or via points on the map.
Users will be able to create Circular Geofence by either selecting areas on the map or, by manually entering an address and selecting the corresponding circumference of the Geofence. These two options will allow the user to select the creation method which works best for their needs. We are pleased that both creation options are available for the client and that the bugs have all been successfully resolved.
